Vice Minister's visit to Kyzylorda
On June 25, 2025, Vice Minister of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan Mr. Kudaibergen Berikuly Arymbek arrived in Kyzylorda region on a business visit. As part of the trip, he held a meeting with subsoil users of the hydrocarbon sector, where current issues of exploration and development of deposits were discussed.
The main focus of the meeting was on the status of exploration projects and the current implementation of contracts at the stage of industrial production. The Vice Minister emphasized the priority of geological exploration for the sustainable development of the industry, and also recalled the need for strict compliance with design solutions and environmental standards.
One of the key topics was the development of the region's gas potential, the total reserves of which are estimated at more than 22 billion cubic meters. ‘Kazpetrol Group’, ‘Galaz & Co’, ‘Kazgermunai’ and ‘Tuzkolmunai’ were among the first subsoil users to sign a memorandum on the construction of a gas pipeline to the Akshabulak gas treatment plant (GTP). This initiative is aimed at expanding the resource base and increasing the efficiency of associated petroleum gas (APG) use.
The meeting noted the effectiveness of the memorandum's implementation by ‘Kazpetrol Group’ and ‘Galaz & Co’, which confirmed their intention to begin supplying APG to the Akshabulak GTP by August 1, 2025.
On June 26, the Vice Minister visited the production facilities of ‘Kazpetrol Group’, where he highly praised the completion of the construction of the infrastructure for the transportation of associated petroleum gas to the Akshabulak GTP.
The first point of the visit was the modern shift camp of Kaiyrkeldi, where specialists involved in the development of the field are accommodated. The Vice Minister inspected the residential modules, canteen, medical center and other social infrastructure facilities. Following the inspection, he noted that the created conditions meet modern requirements for comfortable and safe living. "Creating decent living conditions for work teams, especially in remote regions, is an important element of the sustainable development of the industry," he emphasized.
As part of the implementation of the provisions of the memorandum on the involvement of the gas resource base in the Kyzylorda region, the Vice Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan visited the facility of the booster compressor station (BCS) at the South Kaiyrkeldi field. This facility is designed to pump associated petroleum gas coming from the fields of ‘Galaz & Co’ LLP and ‘Kazpetrol Group’ LLP to the Akshabulak integrated gas treatment plant (GTP) of ‘Kazgermunai’ LLP.
‘Kazpetrol Group’ LLP acquired this BCS from KERUI Petroleum Gas in order to increase the efficiency of oil field development with maximum use of associated petroleum gas with subsequent improvement of environmental aspects due to reduction of emissions into the environment by transporting excess gas volumes to facilities equipped with an associated petroleum gas processing system.
‘Kazpetrol Group’ LLP management reported to the Vice Minister on the technical readiness of the station, the engineering solutions used, the characteristics of the installed equipment, as well as the measures taken to ensure industrial and environmental safety. The Vice Minister highly appreciated the achieved level of preparation and noted the importance of such infrastructure projects for increasing energy efficiency, reducing the impact on the environment and rational use of natural resources.
The visit of the Vice Minister was an important step in strengthening the dialogue between the state and subsoil users, and also confirmed the commitment to joint work on the sustainable development of the oil and gas industry in the region.
