The role of a woman in modern society has long been not limited to just doing household chores. Currently, modern women are trying to combine these two important things: family and home and career.

For a long time, leadership positions were occupied mainly by men, but recently this trend has begun to change significantly. We can see clear examples of this in politics, medicine, the army, and business. A woman’s sharp mind, diplomacy, resourcefulness and prudence, and female intuition make her an indispensable leader, a commander, and a successful leader of any structure.

On the eve of International Women's Day on March 8, Petrocouncil presents the 4th annual review of the TOP 20 women leaders in the oil and gas industry 2024.

This year, the list included representatives of production associations, non-profit organizations, technical (production) workers and employees of the corporate sector who contribute to the development of the oil and gas industry in Kazakhstan.

Our ladies were included in the list: Zhanar Nurgalieva, HR Director and Aliya Abish, Director of Legal Affairs.

Zhanar has over 20 years of experience in human resources management, both as a consultant and HR director in large international companies, including Chevron Munaigas Inc and Raiffaisen Leasing Intl.

She started her career at KAZPETROL GROUP in 2016. She made a great contribution to the development of the company by introducing the most innovative human capital management tools, such as: grading, automation of HR processes, creation of a corporate university, implementation of a health management program (wellbeing), etc. She is a member of the Industry Council for Professional Qualifications in the oil and gas, oil production and petrochemical sectors.

Aliya has more than 20 years of managerial experience in the legal and corporate departments of companies in various industries (BRB Invest, Helios LLP, MIGA GROUP LLP, etc.), including the production and circulation of petroleum products and subsoil use.

Thanks to her communication skills, she negotiates legal issues at all levels and with any regulatory authorities. She is a member of the Industry Council for Professional Qualifications in the oil and gas, oil production and petrochemical sectors. She stood at the origins of the creation of PetroMining ALE and continues to provide comprehensive professional support to its activities. She is a member of the initiative group on problematic issues of subsoil use, as well as the development of relevant proposals and draft amendments to the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

We are very proud of the achievements of our colleagues and sincerely congratulate them with this! We wish you continued success and good luck in all your projects!
