The Planet of Art

In 2025, Kazakhstan became the venue for one of the leading cultural‑educational events – the International Youth Festival THE PLANET OF ART – 2025. Organized under the patronage of UNESCO, this project is aimed at supporting creative youth, promoting intercultural exchange and advancing the concept of a “culture of peace.”

This year the event was held under the theme “Мәдениеттер үндестігі – Harmony of Cultures” and gathered more than 300 children and teenagers, including participants from Central Asian countries.

The program of this year included commemorations of milestone anniversaries of major cultural figures – the 125th anniversary of Antoine de Saint‑Exupéry, the 100th anniversary of Maya Plisetskaya, the 180th anniversary of Abai Qunanbaiuly, the 100th anniversary of Nurgisa Tlendiyev and others. Significant attention was also given to promoting contemporary works by Kazakh composers and choreographers, emphasizing national identity on the global stage.

The selection of Almaty and the Palace of the Republic as the final venue was symbolic. On 3 November 2025, the Gala Concert “Symphony of Unity” took place, featuring 40 laureates from 18 countries. The program included a symphony orchestra and a large‑scale stage show combining global and Kazakh music.

The event was organized by the Kazakhstan National Federation of UNESCO Clubs, the National Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan for UNESCO and ICESCO, the Ministries of Culture, Education and Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, along with regional akimats and the UNESCO Regional Office in Almaty.

Kazpetrol Group became the official sponsor of the event for the second time, enabling children from all regions of the country to participate at no cost. Thanks to this support, the festival remained a truly inclusive and inspiring platform for young artists, musicians and dancers.

Workshops, exhibitions, concert performances and art collaborations between children from different cultures became a genuine celebration of creativity and friendship. THE PLANET OF ART – 2025 is more than a competition — it offers young talents from various countries an opportunity to meet, exchange experiences, expand their creative horizons and become ambassadors of friendship and mutual understanding. Kazakhstan demonstrated its role as a center of international cultural dialogue, while the festival platform served as a vivid example of how art can unite.

This festival is a bright page in the region’s cultural development history, opening new opportunities for young artists and strengthening international ties. We look forward to seeing which creative “planets” will shine thanks to THE PLANET OF ART in the future!
